Located here in Chaxhill, between two of England's most celebrated salmon rivers, the Severn & Wye Smokery is one of Rick Stein's 'Food Heroes' and is a must-visit. The smokery specialises in supplying fresh wild salmon when in season and smoked salmon all the year round.

The fact that the smokery supplies two of London's most prestigious food halls, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, and restaurants, such as The Ivy and Le Caprice, bears testimony to this.

The smokery's small shop also offers a wide range of other smoked fish, including mackerel, kippers, trout, prawns and eels, along with hot smoked chickens and duck breasts. Marinated products, such as gravadlax and herrings marinated in dill, Madeira and juniper, are available too. You can also buy locally baked bread, cheeses, meats and in season expect to see organic vegetables.
